About this deal

This is the interesting part of the story... blue coloring by annealing is well known to all the watch aficionados out there. Parts of the movement or the hands of the watch are blued by heating. Different temperatures resulting in different colors of the workpiece. And exactly this is how it works with the Liliput: In the process of annealing heat is applied for each Fireblue piece individually by manual labor. In color matching caps, bodies and sections are put together afterwards so every single Liliput Fireblue is one of a kind. Sharp is a good word to use, actually, because there are a few edges to catch the finger. With the extension tube inserted, there’s a step midway down the barrel, and the step up from the section is a bit edgy too. But the unposted pen feels much nicer. Unposted, the Supra weighs 42g (1.48 ounces) so it still feels hefty, but the length is cut down to around 12.5cm (5.25 inches). A Beginner’s Guide to Fountain Pen Inks: What Inks to Buy? What Inks to Avoid? To Clean or Not to Clean? The TenRules. I’m laughing, because I saw your Supra and thought, “What? Kaweco makes a double-nibbed Liliput?! WANT!”

Branding is minimal — just a laser-etched logo in the domed steel of the pen end, and a little more round the barrel. I know that this is a bit of a zombie post, but I would recommend adding something about how different cleaning materials might react with different pen materials (ammonia, isopropol alcohol, etc). I am not sure if anyone has had one of these pens long enough to know one way or the other, or if someone with experience with annealed metal can tell us, but I, too, am curious about this. After all, if it does fade, the price premium for this finish is hardly worth it.....This Fireblue pen is constructed from tempered steel and features a spectacular finish. Each pen is hand-torched, giving it a unique pattern of enchanting colors ranging from light brown to purple to blue. Due to this color variation, the pen you receive will have its own unique look which may differ in color from the pens pictured. Lately I've been interested in the compact size & the various new iterations of the Liliput. The screw in nib-units are a great feature of this diminutive Kaweco.

Support for many vanilla doom wads, allowing every favorite wad to be a completely colorful experience! That's the logical direction to take...I wonder what would preserve the finish without chemically reacting with it -- if that's even possible. It might be that no lacquer would react with the blued finish, but I don't know enough about all of that to know. I'm tempted to get a tube of stainless steel from a metal store and blue it, then put a few layers of different lacquers on to see what happens...would be a rather easy experiment to be honest. My nib size is extra fine, and unlike some brands (TWSBI…) extra fine really means extra fine! The line is somewhere around 0.5mm, obviously depending on writing pressure, the type of paper you’re writing on, and the ink you’re using. For this reason alone, it’s one of my favorites since small writing is very easy. The nib is pretty firm, and not very springy so don’t expect anything crazy in a signature. not related but why do people hate the fireblue texture so much? i mean not that tis topic is hating it but everytime i see people talking about it its because they hate it

When the metal extension is removed, the brass Supra shrinks to a length closer to the two small Kaweco Liliputs, though wider. That extra diameter adds some writing comfort. Why? The weight of the Supra comes from the brass material of the entire pen, so the Supra’s weight is distributed evenly. For me, that made the heavier Supra more comfortable than some resin pens that weigh less but have most of the weight concentrated in either a brass piston at the top or a metal section. Better balance is better. Holly, Kaweco will respond to your questions. For mine, it took a couple of days for the answers to appear..

Being one of Kawecos oldest pen ranges. The Liliput range of pens have continued to impress and facinate writers since 1908. Originally being made of hard rubber, the Kaweco Liliput range of pens only consist of 3 main housing parts: The cap, barrel and handle. Nowadays, these pens are now made of high-quality, aluminium metal. Resulting in a pen with a little bit of weight, making for a more comfortable writing experience to the user. Buy with confidence from these brands and retailers that either support the blog or I shop at personally. Aesthetics are subjective, but I think the Supra is beautiful. Extended it’s nicely proportioned, and the larger nib size balances the size of the pen. The sleek shape is enhanced by the understated markings. Laura, you my dear are a major enabler…lol. I love the look of all the pens, especially the fireblue finish. I have read they aren’t as pretty in person, as the photos might suggest. Do you find that to be true? Is the section more narrow than the Dia2? I love clips on my pens, and none of come with one it seems. Yes, I know you can buy one. At that price, you should get one with it. (and a converter too) I like the retro clip of the Dia2. That is by far their best looking clip. Will it fit on these pens? Sorry for so many questions. Yes" indicates that this pen can be converted into an eyedropper pen, which is filled by putting ink directly into the barrel. For instructions, see our eyedropper conversion guide. For "Yes - with Modification," see the Questions & Answers section above and the guide.

No clip to keep it secure in a notebook and no roll-stop either. It almost seems designed to roll off desks and tabletops. Capped, the Supra is a tiny, chunky little thing, in the mould of Kaweco’s Liliput, but a much more usable diameter. It’s close enough to the Schon P6 to be a true size rival, and meaningfully smaller than the Sport. Would it be possible to preserve the unique look by means of a few layers of durable transparent lacquer or something like that? This pen is excellent! I got mine in copper, and have no regrets, as the natural patina has developed very nicely. It’s very easy to take anywhere due to its slim size, and being made of metal, is more durable than any of my other pens. I personally don't like it that much, blue fire? doesn't make much sense to me, but, what can I do? It's a texture, and I respect the people who like it.Kaweco are one of our more recent additions here at Pure Pens. Established in 1883 by founders Luce and Ensslen, the Heidelberger Federhalterfabrik (dip pen factory) began manufacturing dip pens. Around this time, they also began importing fountain pens and gold nibs from Morton, New York. In the ensuing 125 years, the company continued to grow and today stand as one of Europe's premier fountain pen producers. Known for their robust and high-end build specifications, a Kaweco pen will be a long-lasting addition to any fountain pen fan's collection.
