My only real criticism is that there are a few sets of pages, during conversations, where detail evidently falls away and the character designs felt somewhat inconsistent to how they were drawn elsewhere. I very much liked the colour palettes but so much more could have been done with this medium (as seen in many other recent comicbook adaptations of great novels).In June 2019 it was announced that Legendary Television will be producing a spin-off television series, Dune: The Sisterhood, for WarnerMedia's streaming service, HBO Max. The Heroes of Dune series followed, focusing on the time periods between Frank Herbert's original novels. The good news is that the comic is fairly true to the Herbert novel and the drawings of the Sandworm are actually quite impressive.

Dune was a critical and commercial success, leading Legendary Pictures to greenlight a sequel, Dune: Part Two, within that week, with a planned released date in November 2023.
