About this deal

We gotta talk abotu the true multi-device connectivity first. You see at the top here there are a total of 4 modes for this controller to be in? I used the Switch for my Switch, obviously, then the X-input for my Windows PC via Bluetooth, and finally – the Android logo for my phone. I connected 3 devices just for fun and wow – it actually remembers each and every device I have connected for each of the mode. However, all of these calibrations can be intimidating since they require a number of button presses that might not seep into one’s memory from the get-go. They are explained in the user manual but having a dedicated app to tune those settings would have enhanced the user experience and the overall user-friendliness of the KingKong 2 Pro. Up for adding vibration, down for reducing vibration. 4 levels vibration adjustment. The lowest level is vibration off.

And those are only the physical upgrades done on the controller. What about the software – the features? This is the big one and the reason why I ended up returning the 8bitdo. THE ERGONOMICS. I really loved this controller, but the way it’s designed to hold is very weird for my big hands. While you can't really notice it in photos, the handles are kinda straight compared to Xbox and KK2 pro (those two are more tilted) this small difference caused me some major inconvenience during long competitive gaming sessions. I can't say if everyone would report the same issue because my wife enjoyed it just fine, but she has smaller hands. And there is also another upgrade on the GuliKit King Kong 2 Pro – the face buttons – particularly the ABXY buttons. You see, conventional controllers have a membrane pad that we have to press down to connect the two ends together so that the system can detect what we pressed. A few notes I'd like to add.. And sorry for the super long comment but I'm very passionate about this controller and what I've watched this company do over the years..The quality is really good! I heard people saying that QC at the start was an issue and while I can't attest to that, I can say I got the white version so I can have the latest build. The quality of the controller I received is so good. It works well and looks great! I had no issues others reported like bad buttons, vibration, or triggers. (Picture attached)

It even has the feature to wake the Switch up from sleep directly from the controller itself. Granted, it’s not as simple as “holding the power button to wake from sleep” like the Joy-Cons or the GameSir T4 Mini. For the GuliKit King Kong 2 Pro, you’ll have to press any of the face buttons to wake it up from sleep, then the LEDs will start blinking. Then, give that home button a press, and it’ll wake from sleep. So, let’s say I’m playing some games on the Switch with this controller and oops – someone called me for a game of Halo Infinite – I can just hold the mode button to switch to X-input mode, and my PC immediately connects to it. No need to pair and re-pair again like the first generation of the King Kong Pro controller. It’s a huge upgrade. Hold the mode button on controller to switch it to Android iOS mode. 2. Press the pairing button on controller 2 seconds to start pairing with scrolling choose"GuliKit Controller" and connect. 4.Pairing is completed once it shows successful connection to new controller. if it aint broke, dont fix it lol im pretty sure the XBOX controller design is one of the most preferred designs among controller playersThe quality is good. The grip is textured, and the buttons feel good (but not as good as KK2 in my opinion)

But what is worse is increased jitter, it is nearly impossible to control characters in some games. Those new ABXY buttons managed to register every single press that I’ve made during my button-mashing marathon. However, I do feel fatigue after a while since the buttons are a little stiff in comparison to the Xbox One X controller, for example. In XInput/Android mode over Bluetooth and Gulikit PC02 dongle polling rate according to tests droped from ~105-107Hz to ~50-69Hz compared to 1.12. The new buttons are no longer membrane buttons, they are mechanical switches. I'm really excited to see how these will feel and performAnd to actually play games using the GuliKit King Kong 2 Pro is just magnificent. There is literally no argument that this is one of the highest-quality controllers that I’ve used so far. I even played Hades on my PC using this controller – and Hades is a game that requires instantaneous inputs with zero lags and zero errors in terms of inputs.
