About this deal

Note: Before saving an illustration with transparent areas as a PNG, remember to first hide the paper layer ( Paper). The Guardian reported that Gabriel da Silva claimed that ammonium nitrate could be highly explosive if it has been contaminated with oil. I’m guessing this kind of thing will need to be done in the Node/Shade Editor…? I’m still a novice with this kind of thing, so I’m not sure how I would achieve the same or a similar result. All I know (think) is that a Color Ramp will be involved. Possibly two…? Can anyone help? It looked to me like that deep red colour was from a fire, so it could have been from burning materials, furniture or some sort of dye or paint. It could also have been from the amount of dust in the area.

I’m currently following this very old tutorial by Andrew Price on making an explosion and around 16:14, he sets up textures in the Texture panel to make the smoke simulation look like an explosion by mixing two Voxel Data textures together. Obviously in Blender 2.8, this can’t really be done that way. I use the Pencil >Real pencil tool. Pay attention to your mood or reference board to give the explosion a credible shape. I will make two different shapes, an aerial explosion (A) and another happening on the ground (B). These should give you enough variety to start with in your drawings.
