About this deal

The LT series AIO coolers support most major RGB synchronization software to coordinate your colors and control different lighting effect to match personalize your system. more performance, not every compatible cooler available has the LGA1700 mounting hardware included in will be more powerful than previous generations through the use of high-performance efficient cores.

To test the limits of a cooler's thermal dissipation capabilities, I run two primary stress tests: Cinebench and OCCT each for 10 minutes. While this may be a short amount of time, it is sufficient to push most coolers–air and liquid–to their limits. In terms of total wattage this liquid cooler can handle, DeepCool’s LT520 shows the strength of their 4th generation pump design – handling 288W (on average) during the course of the Cinebench testing. This is similar performance to BeQuiet’s and Enermax’ offerings of this size class, and even 360mm models from Arctic & MSI that I’ve tested on Tom’s Hardware ( see results here).

While in the past a CPU hitting its peak temperature was cause for concern, enthusiasts are going to have to learn to accept high temperatures as “normal” while running demanding workloads with Raptor Lake and Ryzen 7000 CPUs. Modern AMD & Intel CPUs are designed to run fairly hot without any problems – up to 95 degrees C for AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs, and up to 100 degrees C for Intel’s Core i9-13900K. Similar behavior has been standard in laptops for years due to cooling limitations in tight spaces. In addition to testing Cinebench without power limits enforced, we’ll also be showing results when the CPU’s power consumption is limited to a more reasonable 200W. We’ll also show results at 125W for those who prefer whisper-quiet cooling, at the cost of some performance. For both of these results, we’ll show traditional delta over ambient temperature results. This means that coolers that kept previous generation products like the i9-10900K nice and cool sometimes struggle to keep Intel's i9-12900K under Tj max–the top temperature before the CPU starts to throttle. Many coolers, including DeepCool’s last generation CASTLE EX AIOs, failed to keep the i9-12900K under TJ max when power limits are removed in workloads like Cinebench and OCCT when I’ve tested them. Accident, abuse, misuse, neglect, fire, water, lightning, other acts of nature, electrical surge, commercial or industrial use, unauthorized product modification or failure to follow instructions included with the product.

Tier 3: These coolers are able to keep the i9-12900K under TJ max with CPU power limits of 140W enforced. Testing Methodology While this unit does have an accessible refill port, DeepCool advises to send it to them if refill or repair is necessary. With this unit’s 5-year warranty, you’re covered in the unlikely event occurs where service is required. Installation The 240mm liquid cooler comes in a box that uses molded cardboard, foam, and plastic for the protection of the inner contents. DeepCool does not warrant that this product will meet customer's requirements. It is customer's responsibility to determine the suitability of this product. When restricted to 200W, the LT720 kept Intel’s i9-13900K CPU at 52c over the ambient room temperature. This is a better thermal result than you’ll see from any air cooler, and it is in line with most liquid coolers on the market that I’ve tested – where I’ve seen a range of 49-52C over ambient. Given the very similar results in liquid coolers here, I’ll likely add 250W testing in the future to better show the performance differences of liquid coolers.
