About this deal

Bergeon 7825 is special tweezers for inserting and removing of spring bars in difficult access end links and the short spring bars in the inner link. I also have the 7825, but as easy as I thought it was the first time using it, I haven't felt ever after. And while I'm no watchmaker and have only had them for a month, they seem comparable to the much more expensive Bergeon. Going from a normal spring bar tool to these professional tweezers was like going from hammer to a nailgun. There is a small amount of play between the two halves, so the action is best when squeezing near the center of the tool.

My usual go-to is my Bergeon 6262, which has served me faithfully for years but clearly isn't up to the task.

On one end is a pair of replaceable stainless steel springbar tips, and on the other is a pair of plastic projections. As you mentioned, it is a bit easier to accomplish inserting the end link from the end of the lug vs the bottom. Oh: there's a really nice read on hairsprings, that I have always thought highly of; "Practical Balance and Hair-spring Work", Walter J Kleinlein, 1925.

Bergeon's new 7825 spring bar tweezers have very fine forked tips to reach narrow openings as small as 1mm and built very similar to the Rolex® 3200 tool normally only supplied to authorized dealers. Crafted with precision and attention to detail, this versatile tool is a must-have for anyone who takes pride in their timepieces. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The design of the tool makes it very easy to insert the tips while avoiding contact with the bracelet. If you change straps regularly on your watch with the wrong tools, it can cause your lugs to acquire a lot of scratches and dents over time.
